  • good interpersonal skills with patients and a desire to help others
  • good attention to detail
  • ability to be on your feet all day
  • good monitoring capabilities to assess performance of yourself  and others to make improvements or take corrective action

Additional sonography skills include:

  • ability to use scientific rules and methods to solve problems
  • strength to lift or position patients
  • good time management skills
  • good hand-eye coordination in order to obtain quality images
  • a passion for learning to stay abreast  of the field
  • a background in mathematics and science is helpful
